Maintenance

Optimal maintenance of your parquet floor

Since the use of parquet in interiors, it has featured various finishes: waxed, varnished, or oiled. Each finish has had its period of preference based on trends and styles.

We suggest maintaining your parquet regularly with a vacuum cleaner and a damp cloth, using the appropriate product for the finish of your parquet.

It is advisable to keep a consistent room temperature between 15°C and 25°C and maintain a humidity level between 50% and 65% in rooms with parquet flooring.

Varnished parquet

Varnished parquet is coated with a varnish that protects it from stains and scratches. Over the years, the quality of the varnish has improved; it no longer chips and is more stable over time.

Brisbois offers various finishes: glossy, satin, and more recently, a raw (matte) appearance.

Oiled parquet

Oiled parquet is widely used today by interior designers because its manufacturing techniques have reached a high level of excellence. The parquet is initially treated with oil at the factory.

After installation, it is coated again with tinted or untinted oil. The finishing options are endless. Oiled parquet will always have a more raw, natural appearance compared to varnished parquet.
